Honey From The Bee

So many others would be crippled with fear

To see bees come and build their hive here.

But not us. We're happy to oblige and agree

Because we know we get honey from the bee.

Aren't you afraid of the bee's sting?

Perhaps, but look at the honey they bring.

Don't aggravate them, that's the key

For how to get honey from the bee.

We don't want to know where they fly next

So we don't feel guilty harbouring their nest

We don't care about the world's quarrels

So don't bother us about our own morals

We don't care about what we can't see

We just care about honey from the bee

We've a sense of solidarity by disposition

But a love of honey for juxtaposition

How far we've come and how far we've fallen

We just want your honey, you can have our pollen

'War is peace' says the hive's new decree

And we'll say yes, for honey from the bee

The bees are adamant about their war on terror

And stinging children is an unfortunate error

We'll let them bring all their guns and cannon

And stop for a rest, down in Shannon

Whatever they're doing doesn't matter to me

As long as I still get honey from the bee
